Dear ProQuest Customer,
Happy Spring! Since my last message, we have been busy executing our product roadmap and have just completed our most successful release of ProQuest Dialog™ to date. This release paves the way to a successful migration with these important achievements:
- An enhanced alert system that meets the workflow and performance expectations of our customers with a 99.9% success rate
- Improved document duplicate detection with real-time identification, plus streamlined and extended custom document output functionality
- Additional search capabilities around document availability, updates, and controlled vocabularies
- Improved customer experience in key databases like SciSearch
ProQuest Dialog Demos at SLA. Are you attending SLA in San Diego, CA? If so, please stop by booth #600 for a demonstration of ProQuest Dialog. We are also sponsoring the Social Media Lounge and have several other fun activities and giveaways planned. Of course, if you’re not coming to SLA, just call your account manager or submit a demo request form online to arrange a personal demonstration of the exciting new platform.
Honoring the Legacy of Dialog — Please Share Your Memories! I’m very proud that ProQuest Dialog carries forward our rich tradition of precise search for information professionals while modernizing the experience and making it more accessible to new users. As part of our migration, we’re opening up the Dialog archives to find pictures, advertisements, and other items — like the piece from the “Dialog Man” series highlighted at the right. We’d love your help documenting Dialog’s 30 year tradition, and ask you to share any pictures, anecdotes or items that you might have. Please email them to me at .
Migration is Right Around the Corner. In the upcoming months, we will begin migrating customers to ProQuest Dialog, as the legacy service will be retired this year. We understand how much you rely on Dialog for crucial business needs, and are eager for you to experience the essence of Dialog in the new modernized ProQuest Dialog. As mentioned in our February Chronolog, if you are an alerts customer, now is the time to review your alerts and saved searches portfolio to prepare for a smooth transition. In the upcoming weeks, you will begin to receive communications with details on the migration timeline.
Should you have any concerns or questions, I welcome you to contact me directly. In addition, your account manager and our team of product experts continue to be available to provide top quality training, service, and support to help you with each step.
