PsycINFO® (File 11) is reloaded on Dialog every year to refresh the database and implement the latest thesaurus. This year’s enhancements include:
New Document Type (DT=Poetry): A new term, Poetry, added that is applied to documents that are poems rather than those about poetry.
New Book Series, Volume, Issue and ISSN: Two new fields, Volume and Issue (searchable as SO=), added in addition to Title and Translated Title. The Book Series ISSN field has been changed to accommodate two types of book series ISSNs—ISSN (for Print) and eISSN (for Electronic) that allows a book record from a series to have both values noted (searchable as SN=).
New Special Section Titles (searchable as /SH):Special Sections that are thematic sections within a journal and may include several articles but not all of the articles in a particular issue, as in a Special Issue.
Revised Book Set ISBNs (searchable as BN=): Book Set ISBNs now provided as 10- or 13-digit ISBNs and include the binding type. A new type, Set, has been added.
New PubMed Identifier (searchable as AA=):A new field for the PubMed unique identifiers (PMID), when available.
New Test & Measures Identifier Digital Object Identifier (DOI, searchable as /ID):A new field for a test DOI added as a reference to Test Master records in PsycTESTS®. These Test DOIs do not resolve to the full-text document, but to the Test Master record.
New Methodology Type (ME=Scientific Simulation):A new term, Scientific Simulation, added. This field identifies the specific kind of methodology used in a research study and may appear in records for all publication types (Journal, Book, Encyclopedia, Dissertation Abstract, and Electronic Collection).
Revised Grant/Sponsorship: Field changed to include sponsor names (searchable as SP=), grant/contract/award information (searchable as GR=), funding amounts, funding dates, recipients, and other details about the sponsorship (all searchable as /GR).
Revised Book Table of Contents (searchable as /TC): A new term “Created by PsycINFO”, to flag books (mainly PsycBOOKS Classics titles) that do not have a source (abbreviated or otherwise) Table of Contents and for which PsycINFO creates the Table of Contents.
New and Reloaded Thesaurus: Thesaurus of Psychological Index Terms, with new terms, new scope notes, and hierarchical changes, now provided.
