databases Orange, CA and Cary, NC-- May 17, 2000: BizInt Solutions has announced new versions of BizInt Smart Charts for Patents and BizInt Smart Charts for Pharmaceuticals products, with support for creating tabular reports from patents and drug pipeline databases from Dialog. BizInt Smart Charts for Patents and BizInt Smart Charts for Pharmaceuticals are Windows-based software applications for creating, customizing, and distributing tabular reports. BizInt Smart Charts is designed to facilitate the analysis of dozens, hundreds, or thousands of records, and automates the time-consuming process of creating reports manually. Using BizInt Smart Charts, analysts can create reports in minutes which would previously have required days of effort. BizInt Smart Charts is used by over 50 pharmaceutical and high-technology companies in North America and Europe. "We are pleased and excited about BizInt Solutions development and support of Dialog databases, particularly for our biopharmaceutical customer base," said Libby Trudell, Dialog Vice President of Product Management. "BizInt Smart Charts solutions will definitely streamline and consolidate the time required to analyze important data coming from Dialog." "We've had many requests from Dialog customers to add BizInt Smart Charts support for patents and drug pipeline data on Dialog," said Diane Webb, President. "Adding support for these databases on Dialog will provide our customers with more choices for creating patents and drug pipeline reports." BizInt Smart Charts for Patents 2.1 supports the creation of tabular reports from Dialog transcripts of the Derwent World Patents Index (files 280, 351, 352) and CLAIMS US Patents (files 340, 341, 942). Transcripts are created in TAG format using the Dialog search interface, and then imported into BizInt Smart Charts for Patents. BizInt Smart Charts for Patents 2.1 also supports DWPI and CLAIMS on STN and Questel*Orbit. Data from different databases and sources can be combined into a single report containing the chart, records, and images. BizInt Smart Charts for Pharmaceuticals 2.2 supports creation of tabular reports from Dialog transcripts of PJB Pharmaprojects (files 128, 928), IMS R&D Focus (files 445, 955), and Adis R&D; Insight (files 107, 907). In addition to Dialog, users can search these databases on DataStar, DataStar Web, CD-ROM, Lotus Notes, and Adis KBNet, and import their search results into BizInt Smart Charts for Pharmaceuticals. Data from different databases and sources can be combined into a single drug pipeline report. Once a report is created in BizInt Smart Charts, users can view associated records and images, and customize reports for different needs. Users can select and rearrange visible columns and rows, add their own columns for comments and keywords, sort, edit the data, and create and apply chart templates. Completed reports--including the chart, records, and images--can be printed or exported to several formats, including Excel and HTML. Reports can also be distributed with the BizInt Smart Charts Viewer, which allows end-users to view and customize reports created with both BizInt Smart Charts for Pharmaceuticals and BizInt Smart Charts for Patents. - Ends - BizInt Solutions About Dialog Headquartered in Cary, N.C., USA, with direct operations in 30 countries, Dialog products are used by more than 20,000 corporate customers in over 100 countries.
