Dialog's Info Pro Portal Streamlines Access to Dialog Products and Services
Provides Custom Access to a Wide Range of Solutions for Information Professionals

Cary, NC-- June 12, 2000: The Dialog Corporation announced today a new web portal for professional searchers (www.dialog.com/infopro). Designed with the feedback from the company’s most valued source — information professionals -- the Info Pro Portal demonstrates a firm commitment to that community. It is being showcased this week at the Special Libraries Association 91st Annual Conference in Philadelphia.

"We created an easy-to-use portal that can be personalized to meet the unique needs of each user. It’s one way of adding value for our most important customers, and the portal will continue to evolve as they provide feedback," said Betty Jo Hibberd, Dialog’s Information Professional Market Manager. Hibberd will be monitoring comments and overseeing ongoing enhancements to the portal.

Info Pro Portal users will find three zones for quick and convenient information. One zone focuses on general resources for information professionals, such as industry news, links to tools, career information, Dialog search products, a language translator, a currency exchange tool, and links to country pages.

The middle zone provides continuous updates about Dialog products and future development plans. For people who are not Dialog subscribers, pay-per-document access to Dialog’s vast information resources is provided through credit card billing. Searching is free, and users pay only for the information they choose. Users may also search the Web using a next-generation search engine appropriately named WebCheck.

The final zone features Dialog resources for the information professional, including free access to Dialog's Journal Name Finder file and links to SolutionBase, Dialog’s online customer support tool for frequently asked questions, search solutions, tips and technical support. Customary portal tools including stock quotes, weather, travel, business and people finder, and other web search engines can be included or eliminated depending on user preference. For online discussion regarding topics of interest in the market or suggestions for the portal, the user can access "A Dialogue for Information Professionals" also on the Info Pro Portal.
