Dialog1 RELEASED
New Product Facilitates User-Friendly Interaction

Cary, N.C., April 26, 2001 — Dialog, a leading provider of online-based information services and a subsidiary of The Thomson Corporation (TSE:TOC), today announced the release of Dialog1, a streamlined search product developed to offer high-level content in an easy-to-use format. This user-friendly delivery system is designed for vertical and horizontal markets, and requires just one click of the mouse to deliver relevant information to the end-user.

Dialog1 has already earned professional acclaim by being named Best New Business Intelligence Product by Information Highways and receiving EContent magazine's Editor's Choice Award.

Dialog1 was created by listening to the needs of customers and by utilizing the searching expertise of our staff of information professionals. The product facilitates a "question and answer" interaction between the user and Dialog® to easily retrieve content, answering a need of the end-user for fast, effective search tools and information services.

"Many of the search tools deploy powerful Dialog command language 'behind the scenes,' providing information with pinpoint precision," said Paul Colucci, senior vice president of product development at Dialog. "By listening to our customers and surveying the market, Dialog has recognized the urgency for convenience and reliability in content delivery systems."

"Dialog1 is giving our attorneys easy access to a wealth of reliable intellectual property information," said Mary Gilligan, librarian at Pennie & Edmonds LLP. "Unlike the purported ‘free' Web sites, Dialog1's data is clean, easy to read, and verified."

Several modules are immediately available for access at Dialog1.com, including intellectual property, pharmaceuticals, business intelligence, marketing, and world news. Energy, engineering, and biotech are expected to be made available later this year.

Currently, Dialog users can access Dialog1 with a Dialog password. Support services are easily accessible utilizing a "Call Me Now" feature, where users can have a product specialist call them directly at a specified time.
