P R E S S R E L E A S E The Dialog Corporation Announces 2001 Roger K. Summit Scholarship CARY, N.C. January 15, 2001 The Dialog Corporation, a leading provider of online-based information solutions, is seeking applicants worldwide for the 2001 Roger K. Summit Scholarship. The $5,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a graduate student in an accredited library or information science program. The application deadline is April 30, 2001, and the award will be presented in June at the Special Library Association Annual Conference in San Antonio, Texas. Information professionals and educators on Dialog's Academic Advisory Board will select the winner after reviewing academic achievement, interest in electronic information services, proficiency using Dialog's online services and products, and faculty recommendations. The application is available online. This scholarship is part of Dialog's overall commitment to the ongoing development of information professionals that also includes sponsorship of the SLA Knowledge Champions Institute and other SLA professional development programs. The scholarship is named for Dr. Roger K. Summit, who has been Chairman Emeritus of Dialog since 1997, having previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Dialog Information Services, Inc. until his retirement in 1991.
