Dialog Expands Alliance with Frost & Sullivan
Dialog Maintains Exclusive Vendor Relationship for Frost & Sullivan Market Analysis

CARY, NC, USA, March 20 , 2002 -- Dialog, a Thomson business and a leading worldwide provider of online-based information services and integrated information solutions, today announced an expanded exclusive licensing and content alliance with San Jose, CA-based Frost & Sullivan, leading international marketing consulting and training company.

The agreement enables Dialog to offer worldwide users of its three online services -- Dialog®, Profound® and DataStar™ -- site licensing rights to electronically access Frost & Sullivan's analytical information. Site licensing arrangements enable Dialog to customize highly tailored packages for its customers, offering unlimited searching and document retrieval of Frost & Sullivan materials at fixed monthly subscriptions.

The agreement also increases the flow of Frost & Sullivan's in-depth and extensive strategic analysis added to the three Dialog services and available for online retrieval.

An expanded roster of strategic research databases covering industrial, healthcare and communications/information technology industries, companies and topics are now being added the Dialog services. Approximately 40 newly released Frost & Sullivan analyses are added monthly.

No other online information service offers access to Frost & Sullivan strategic insights.

"Frost & Sullivan understandably has a worldwide reputation for the excellence of its strategic analysis. They have a tremendous track record of identifying trends in business and technology before they become common knowledge," said Roy M. Martin, Jr., Dialog president and CEO. "We pride ourselves at Dialog for our ability to offer the best of online information resources, and our expanded alliance with Frost & Sullivan is certainly an important step in that ongoing pursuit."

Added David Frigstad, Frost & Sullivan chairman: "We're delighted to be working even more closely with Dialog. Our exclusive alliance enables Dialog to take our analyses into businesses and governments worldwide. It's a win-win for everyone involved."

In 2001, Frost & Sullivan acquired technology analysts Hewin International. Strategic analysis dealing with technical and international marketing issues produced by Hewin's researchers are now fully integrated into the Frost & Sullivan content pool available through Dialog services.

New for 2002, Frost & Sullivan's Executive Summits division redefines the traditional conference format for executive clientele. Through a reconstructed, client-centric philosophy, Frost & Sullivan unveils a new concept for high-level, strategic learning and sharing.

Frost & Sullivan's Market Insights provides strategic solutions for critical challenges and opportunities in a changing marketplace. Using Frost & Sullivan's Market Engineering research methodology, each Market Insight presents powerfully summarized market analysis, to give you valuable insights, in a concise document.

The agreement announced today expands a 1997 exclusive partnership between Frost & Sullivan and Dialog, called Frost & Sullivan Electronic Distribution, through which online information offered by both companies was offered to each other's clients. That cross-marketing program continues to be offered by the two companies.

On Dialog services, the Frost & Sullivan content may be found in Files 765 and 767. On the DataStar service, the materials are in Files FSER and FSMR. On the Profound service, the content is available through ResearchLine.
