P R E S S R E L E A S E Thomson Intelligence Data Transferred to Dialog CARY, NC, USA, February 1, 2002 -- Dialog, a Thomson business and a leading worldwide provider of online-based information services, today announced the transfer of the Thomson Intelligence Data business to Dialog. Formerly managed by the Financial group within Thomson, Intelligence Data expands Dialog's reach further into strategic intelligence, competitive intelligence and marketing departments of the corporate marketplace. The Intelligence Data product line includes IntraScope, InSite and Intelliscope, the flagship product featuring Investext's broker research, and First Call's morning meeting note content. IntraScope offers this content directly to business intranets while InSite delivers Gale Group (also a Thomson business) trade journals and company profile data. "The Intelligence Data business is complementary to Dialog, and its addition to the Dialog portfolio supports our goal to provide the broadest and most powerful e-information solutions to our customers worldwide," said Dialog President and CEO Roy M. Martin, Jr. "It enhances the array of content, products and services solutions we are able to offer our customers, much like the 2001 addition of NewsEdge business and products to Dialog's portfolio. "Dialog and NewsEdge are well-established with market-leading positions in the corporate sector," he continued. "Combining Intelligence Data's expertise with that of Dialog and NewsEdge will more strategically position the combined organization to serve the corporate market space globally." All Intelligence Data employees, the majority of whom are based in Boston, will remain with the organization. The remainder of the staff operates in offices in San Francisco and throughout Europe. - Ends - topAbout Dialog Today, Dialog's three online platforms -- Dialog®, Profound® and DataStar -- offer users the ability to precisely retrieve data from more than 1.2 billion unique records, accessible via the Internet or through delivery to enterprise intranets.
