Available Content Sources Exceed Company's Goal as New Global Sources Added CARY, N.C., USA — August 2, 2002 — Dialog, a Thomson (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC) business and a leading worldwide provider of online-based information services and integrated information solutions, announced today it has made its recently launched Dialog NewsRoom database available as a stand-alone, Web-based service accessible at www.dialognewsroom.com. In addition to now being available as a stand-alone service, Dialog NewsRoom remains available as a file on the Dialog®-branded platform of online services (file number 990), and as files on the Dialog DataStar™ (file: NEWS) and Dialog Profound® (file: NewsLine) services. The company also said that it has exceeded its previously announced goal for the number of sources to be available for electronic searching and retrieval through Dialog NewsRoom, with more than 7,000 sources of news now included. Additionally, the stand-alone product, Dialog NewsRoom, also offers about 1,500 of those sources with a five-year archive. Other new sources include German-language content from Informationsring Kreditwirtschaft, Oesterreichische Kontrollbank and Aerzte Zeitung Verlagsgesellschaft. In addition, content from PRIMEDIA Business Magazines (reporting on 20 industry sectors); the Associated Press (including its Alerts and State Wires services); American Health Consultants (including its 80 newsletters covering a broad spectrum of health care topics); and the Federal Document Clearing House (featuring comprehensive political and government news from the United States) now have been added to Dialog NewsRoom.
