Dialog Adds Trademark Records From Central Europe

New Content Only Available Through Dialog Services

CARY, N.C., USA (June 12, 2003) — Dialog, a Thomson (TSX: TOC; NYSE: TOC) business and a leading worldwide provider of online-based information services and integrated information solutions, said today it has added trademark records from three Central European countries to its extensive collection of trademark records from around the world.

The three new files are: TRADEMARKSCAN®-Czech Republic (File 680) with 128,000 records updated monthly; TRADEMARKSCAN®-Hungary (File 681) with 60,000 records updated monthly; and TRADEMARKSCAN®-Poland (File 682) with 190,000 records updated quarterly. All are now available through the Dialog-branded family of online services.

The new European content brings the total number of trademark files available through Dialog to 23. Each file can be searched individually or in conjunction with other trademark files, as well as with databases of other types of intellectual property information, such as Internet domain name registrations, patent records and more.

The 23 trademark files represent records from 20 countries and two transborder patent authorities (the International Register and the European Union), as well as records from the 50 U.S. states. The combined total number of trademark records available through Dialog surpasses 15 million.

"Our goal is to build on our strong content assets in the field of trademarks and intellectual property records," said Viji Krishnan, Dialog vice president of content development. "Our users around the world look to us as the premier aggregator of intellectual property information, and we continue to seek ways to provide additional content resources for them."

Legal professionals, researchers, competitive intelligence specialists, marketing managers and others use Dialog services to research and track trademark and intellectual property issues.
