Dialog Seeks Scholarship Applicants from Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific & Africa

CARY, NC, USA, May 23 2006 — Dialog, a Thomson business, announced today that it is seeking applicants from Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific, and Africa for its annual Roger K. Summit International Scholarship.

The company will award a €5,000 scholarship to a student enrolled in an accredited library or information sciences course. The prize will be awarded at the 2006 Online Information Conference and Exhibition, to be held November 28 – 30 in London. The deadline for applicants is October 20, 2006. Applications are available at gep.dialog.com/scholarship/application.

The Scholarship is named in honor of Dialog founder and Chairman Emeritus Roger K. Summit, a pioneer in developing the technology behind online information retrieval. It is awarded to graduate students enrolled in library or information science programs.

Dialog awards two scholarships annually, one to a student in the Americas and one in Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific, or Africa. Previous winners of the international scholarship award have hailed from Israel, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

A panel of local information professionals selects the regional winner after reviewing academic achievement, interest in electronic information services, proficiency using Dialog online services and faculty recommendations.
