Thomson Scientific Launches Enterprise Alert Manager

Integrated RSS Management Solution Simplifies Information Management and Delivery

Philadelphia, PA USA–London UK, October 4, 2007 — Thomson Scientific, part of The Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC) and leading provider of information solutions to the worldwide research and business communities, today announced the launch of Enterprise Alert Manager, an integrated RSS management and collaboration solution designed to simplify information distribution across an organization by allowing for easy deployment while reducing email load and network strain. It also helps centralize content management, including managing users' credentials for password protected content.

With Enterprise Alert Manager, information managers can access, manage and deliver information from any RSS-based source, including Dialog, the Internet and internal, proprietary content. Enterprise Alert Manager also provides the ability to enhance content with editorial reviews, tag records with separate categories, customize information feeds for specific constituencies and provide users access to RSS content feeds via email, web browsers, portals, intranets, desktop applications and mobile devices.
