Dialog and QUOSA Expand Relationship

Dialog® Platform searches to be streamlined through QUOSA Software

June 14, 2009 (Morrisville, North Carolina) — Dialog, a leader in online information services for professional searchers, and QUOSA will enable their shared customers to explore full text and search results from the Dialog Classic Web™ interface using QUOSA's powerful document management tools. The integration with the Dialog platform is the second phase a larger relationship that began earlier this year with content on the DataStar® platform.

"We have an ongoing commitment to our customers to make Dialog content easier to use and analyze," said Suzanne BeDell, Dialog General Manager. "QUOSA’s document management products have allowed our DataStar customers to analyze content more efficiently. We’re delighted to expand the relationship to include the Dialog platform.”

QUOSA creates tools specifically designed to streamline the acquisition, review, and analysis of large bodies of scholarly articles — ideal for the professional searchers who value Dialog’s powerful content sets. Under the agreement, Dialog customers who also subscribe to QUOSA will be able to use QUOSA's Information Manager for more efficient article retrieval and full-text search on the corpus of articles. QUOSA will also enable better management of search results and imported documents. For example, reviewing articles is simpler through user-friendly file naming. Further, a summary pane allows researchers to go directly to passages of interest in the articles they've saved. It's just one of several tools designed by QUOSA to support serious research by information pros.

"We are very pleased to have extended this important interworking relationship with Dialog," said Malcolm MacKenzie, President of QUOSA. "As of now, Dialog and DataStar users can use QUOSA Information Manager to significantly accelerate the workflow behind the acquisition of new insights based on the scientific literature for a variety of purposes, such as the search for new targets or drug safety vigilance."
