Dialog Announces Recipients of 2009 North American InfoStar Awards Winners are honored at SLA Conference Centennial Celebration June 15, 2009 (Washington, DC) — Dialog, a leader in online information services for professional searchers, announced the recipients of its 2009 North American Quantum2 InfoStar Awards at a champagne reception at the Special Libraries Association Conference and centennial celebration. The awards, a Dialog tradition dating from 2001, are presented annually to information professionals whose achievements demonstrate leadership and inspire others in their industry. This year's recipients are Ginger Heller, Senior Associate, Mercer, (Washington, DC), Rick Raske, Manager, IMC, Baxter International Inc. (Round Lake, IL), and Marlene Vogelsang, Resource Specialist, Energy Resource Center, PG&E Pacific Energy Center (San Francisco, CA) “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate SLA’s history than by honoring the professionals who lead innovation throughout the industry,” said Libby Trudell, Dialog Vice President, Market Development. “Ginger, Rick and Marlene bring passion and commitment to information services, significantly improving the performance of their organizations. They truly are models for the profession.” This year’s InfoStars demonstrate excellence in the award’s focus areas. For example, Mr. Raske displays innovation in information services through his collaborative work with his firm’s IT area. Ms. Heller models effective and strategic involvement in her organization through her enthusiastic and results-driven attitude in working cross-functionally to support information services. Ms. Vogelsang is being recognized for her use of effective marketing and communications programs for the information center and consistently working to improve her professional skills. Ms. Vogelsang is also an active participant in SLA — particularly its Petroleum and Energy Resources Division, where she is chair.
