Dialog Announces 2009 Quantum2 InfoStars at London Online

Bellon, Dorabjee, and Juckes honored as industry innovators

December 1, 2009 (Morrisville, North Carolina, and London) — Dialog, a leader in online information services for professional searchers, announced the recipients of its 2009 Quantum2 InfoStar Awards for the International region. The awards honor information professionals whose achievements demonstrate leadership and inspire others to act as catalysts for change.

The 2009 winners are Nadine Bellon, Head of Competitive Intelligence, Transgene (France); Shaida Dorabjee, Information Consultant, SD Information Services (UK); and Paula Juckes, Senior Scientist Informatics, UCB (UK).

Ms. Bellon is being recognized for her extensive involvement in the information profession, sharing her experiences and expertise and encouraging innovation. She is well known on the conference circuit, most recently chairing sessions and participating as a member of the judging panel at the 2009 International Chemical Information Conference (ICIC) in Sitges, Spain.

Ms. Dorabjee, through her work as an information consultant, specialises in training that helps professionals raise the profile of their information services. Her courses include undertaking information audits, marketing and managing change – topics which resonate strongly with the Quantum2 Leadership Programme. She has worked extensively with professional organisations such as CILIP and UKeIG.

Ms. Juckes (nee Challis) is being celebrated for a successful transition from the plant protection environment into the pharmaceutical segment. Further, she has created an information service at UCB that’s both well-used and well-recognized. She has represented UCB for the last five years on IMPI, a forum for information professionals in the pharmaceutical industry.

"Nadine, Shaida and Paula are true leaders in the field, driving our entire community of professionals forward,” said Libby Trudell, vice president, market development. “They embrace change as opportunity and help others do the same. It’s an honor for Dialog to recognize their contributions.”

The InfoStars Award is part of Dialog’s lauded Quantum2 program – a leadership development framework for information professionals worldwide.
