Dialog Invites Future Information Professionals to Apply for Annual Scholarship Roger K. Summit Scholarship applications are due by April 30 February 2, 2010 (Morrisville, North Carolina) — Dialog, part of the ProQuest family of businesses, is seeking applicants for its 2010 Roger K. Summit Scholarship. Open to applicants from around the world, the US$5,000 award is given annually to a promising graduate student in library and information sciences. Dialog is a leader in online information services for professional searchers. "It's an exciting time of year for Dialog. As the applications come in we're rewarded with visibility into the fresh perspectives and evolving career goals of students now entering the profession," said Libby Trudell, Dialog Vice President, Market Development. "For Dialog and ProQuest, supporting and engaging with the next generation of information professionals is central to our mission." The deadline to apply for the scholarship is April 30, 2010. To qualify, candidates must be enrolled in an accredited library or information sciences program. A panel of information professionals will select the winner after reviewing academic achievement, interest in electronic information services, proficiency using Dialog® online services and faculty recommendations. The Roger K. Summit Scholarship is named in honor of Dialog founder and Chairman Emeritus Roger K. Summit, a pioneer in developing the technology behind online information retrieval. Since 1993, Dialog has presented 26 scholarships.
