Ivaldi, Knott, and Michaud honored for their contributions

November 30, 2010 (Morrisville, North Carolina, and London) — Dialog, a leader in online information services for professional searchers, announced the recipients of its 2010 Quantum2 InfoStar Awards for the International region. The awards honor information professionals whose achievements demonstrate leadership and inspire others to act as catalysts for change.

The 2010 winners are

  • Silvia Ivaldi, Head of R&D Information Unit, Chiesi Farmaceutici (Italy)
  • Samantha Knott, Medical Information Manager, Napp Pharmaceuticals (UK)
  • and Fabienne Michaud, Customer Services Manager, Royal Society of Medicine (UK).

Ms. Ivaldi coordinates the R&D library and Scientific Information Services that supports Chiesi Farmaceutici's discovery, clinical, regulatory and commercial teams. She is being honored for providing, with the support of her collaborators, a dynamic information service for her organization by implementing tools and systems to bring resources directly into her users' workflows, as well as for her professional networking and skill in mentoring and guiding fellow researchers.

As Medical Information Manager at Napp Pharmaceuticals, Ms. Knott leads a team that provides high quality and timely responses to medical inquiries from healthcare professionals and internal customers at Napp. She is being recognized for rejuvenating information service provision along with evaluating and restructuring subscription models to give her organization high value service. Her efforts have been so effective that she has raised the profile of the department within the entire organization.

The Royal Society of Medicine's Ms. Michaud is Customer Services Manager, responsible for providing a high-quality information service for members and fellows of the society. She is being awarded an InfoStar for her intimate knowledge of the information needs of her organization and for spearheading the provision of value-added sources that meet these needs, raising the profile of the information service.

"Silvia, Sam and Fabienne are creative thinkers who truly embrace 'service' as the foundation of our profession," said Libby Trudell, vice president, market development. "These are the professionals that position information services as essential to healthy organizations. It's an honor for Dialog to recognize their contributions."
