ProQuest Invites Future Information Professionals to Apply for Annual Scholarship

Roger K. Summit Scholarship applications are due by April 30

March 15, 2012 (Ann Arbor, MI) — ProQuest is seeking applicants for its 2012 Roger K. Summit Scholarship. Open to applicants from around the world, the US$5,000 award is given annually to a promising graduate student in library and information sciences. The winner will be announced at the Special Libraries Association's 2012 Annual Conference to be held July 15-18 in Chicago, Illinois, in the U.S.

"It's inspiring to review the applicants for the Scholarship each year," said Anthea Gotto, ProQuest Vice-President of Global Training. "Their vision for the information profession is continuously evolving. These exceptional students are helping our profession to become more exciting, more innovative and enabling it to reach deeper into business and society than ever before."

The Summit Scholarship is named for Dialog founder Roger K. Summit, a pioneer in developing the technology behind online information retrieval. Established in 1993, it continues as part of ProQuest's commitment to support graduate education and engage the next generation of information professionals. The deadline to apply for the scholarship is April 30, 2012. To qualify, candidates must be enrolled in an accredited library or information sciences program. A panel of ProQuest information professionals will select the winner after reviewing academic achievement, interest in digital services and faculty recommendations.
