Technical Requirements
Dialog@Site 5 requires:
Server:
- A pentium 200 with 128 MB RAM (more is strongly recommended) running
Windows NT 4.0 Server with Microsoft IIS version 4 or Windows 2000
Server with Microsoft version 5, is required.
- Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) version 5.5 must be loaded on the
server for all @Site functionality to work. Version 5.0/5.1 of IE
may be used, but this will preclude the use of the Frames customisation
features.
- In order to install Dialog@Site, you must have administrator privileges
on the server where it is being installed.
Client:
- Netscape Navigator 4.7 or higher or Microsoft Internet Explorer
4.0 or higher running on a machine that meets the minimum specifications
as defined by Netscape or Microsoft, respectively.
- The machine must have access to the Intranet server.
Dialog@Site Gold requires:
- A Pentium class CPU with 32mb RAM (64mb-128mb strongly recommended)
running NT 4.0 Server of NT 4.0 Workstation with Microsoft®
IIS software. (IIS comes with NT Server). Other Web software can be
used, but IIS is the only fully tested and supported platform
- An Intranet up and running in the organization with the NT server
connected to it.
- GOLD eDOCS Full-text linking requires Internet Explorer 5.0 or
higher to be installed on the Dialog @Site server. There are elements
of this Microsoft product that are used by Dialog @Site to process
the XML syntax used for transferring details between Dialog @Site
and the Remote Links Server.
- IIS Version 4.0 is required in order to view images that are stored
in some Dialog databases (Trademarkscan Federal only with this version).
It is necessary to set a configuration in IIS which is detailed in
section 1.3.4. in the Administrators Guide.
- In order to install Dialog @Site, you must have administrator privileges
