Document Delivery
Now, Dialog customers can order copies of journal articles through
Dialog SourceOne Document Delivery,
version 6.3. Original document copies provide complementary information
to Dialog's online content by giving customers access not only to fulltext,
but also to graphs, tables, charts and pictures that can provide additional,
high value information.
This service provides access to documents such as journal articles,
annual reports, dissertations and standards & specs, regardless
of whether the fulltext is available in Dialog databases. Searchers
can use Dialog's extensive indexing to perform bibliographic searches,
check abstracts to determine documents of interest, and order copies
of the original documents, all with their Dialog accounts.
Benefits:
- "One-stop" shopping for copies of original documents from
Dialog products
- One comprehensive invoice
- Expanded access to scientific and technical content
- Manageable multiple delivery profiles, to conveniently route documents
to different users and departments
- "Special Instructions" to allow customers to specify important
aspects of filling the order, such as:
- "Color copies, please"
- "Delivery needed by next Friday, 6/28/2002"
- "Please cancel order if charges are over $60"
- "I only need Appendix C of the document cited above"
New "Order" Button on Dialog Search
Forms
Document orders can be placed with the "Order" button in Dialog
forms-based products (DialogWeb Guided,
DialogSelect, and as an option
in custom Toolkit applications). The
"Order" button gives searchers access to a shopping cart that
allows them to order general documents only. Please note that we are
unable to offer patent documents via the forms-based products at this
time.
Dialog Command Searchers: The ORDER Command
SourceOne 6.3 document orders can
be placed with the ORDER command in all Dialog command language products
(DialogLink, DialogClassic,
DialogClassic Web and DialogWeb
Command). The ORDER command allows searchers to order both patent documents
and general documents. In addition, both patents and documents can be
ordered from search sets, as well as by manually entering document information.
