Dialog eLinks Data Sheet

Dialog eLinksSM

Dialog provides additional value to its vast scientific, technical, and medical collection by enabling searchers to link to the fulltext of articles from some of our leading databases. Now searchers can identify records of interest using Dialog's powerful search engine and then link directly to the fulltext of the publications to which they subscribe. Our eLinking service is provided free of charge, and it is available in DialogLink 5, DialogClassic Web®, DialogWeb, DialogSelect™, Dialog1, Dialog Intranet Toolkit Custom Solutions, and Dialog®Pro.

In order to provide the best linking service available, Dialog has partnered with over 670 publishers and aggregators to provide access to almost 28,000 journals. In addition, Dialog has created an easy to use subscription management tool that allows Dialog account administrators to easily set up and manage their eLinking service.

NEW!OpenURL 1.0

Dialog eLinks has upgraded to OpenURL 1.0, the latest standard for customers with link resolvers. Get more from your library holdings and electronic journal investments by setting up your Dialog account to link to full-text through your own document-fulfillment system. Integrate the power of Dialog with your own comprehensive access to fulltext.

Librarian/administrators with link resolvers can easily activate OpenURL 1.0 in eLinks Manager by choosing 1.0 from the new Open URL drop-down menu. With this setup you give searchers in your organization immediate access to fulltext documents that you manage. Virtually every bibliographic citation in the scientific-technical literature will have an "Open URL" button. Scientists, chemists, biologists, researchers, engineers, information managers and inventors now can link directly from their search results on Dialog to their electronic holdings, including the complete journal articles, with the charts, graphs, diagrams and pictures that they need.
