Dialog/ProQuest Terms & Conditions

Acceptable uses of Dialog and ProQuest trial database access:

• General information search/retrieval (increasing the knowledge of the user); competitive intelligence searches; technology scouting searches
• Researcher to research outreach (i.e. corporate scientist contacts a university-based colleague to propose collaboration or consulting relationship with the subscribing company (but not acting as a middle-man to create deals on behalf of another organization)

Unacceptable uses of the trial database access without the express written permission of Dialog/ProQuest:

• Mass mailing/emailing of any kind (even for researcher to research outreach)
• Marketing or selling of products/services to the profiles researchers
• Reselling search results either directly or indirectly to another organization
• Inclusion of profile data in a derivative system or product (including consulting services in which profiles are given to consulting customers)
• Mass exporting of information for import into another information system
• Primary use of the database for recruiting purposes (i.e. headhunting)
