Several products— ABI/INFORM Professional Standard, ABI/INFORM Professional Advanced and ABI/INFORM Professional Market Research—will make up the new ABI/INFORM Professional with key content enhancements between the database on legacy Dialog and the new product.

ABI/INFORM Professional Standard

ABI/INFORM Professional Standard is the version of ABI/INFORM that mirrors File 15 on legacy Dialog. This database is a broad business resource containing over 3,000 of the most well-respected trade and scholarly business journals in the world. The database provides strong Abstract and Indexing and full-text coverage of scholarly and trade journals from key publishers including Emerald Group Publishing, Cambridge University Press, Springer Science and Business Media, and Palgrave MacMillan. Widely used to support broad in-depth business research into management theories and best practices, ABI/INFORM also accessed for a global cross-sector competitive intelligence resource.

The database is available through all ProQuest Dialog pricing plans. All site-license and Choice customers will be migrated to ABI/INFORM Professional Standard. This new version contains more complete backfiles for many of the titles. Users can expect some five million additional backfile records at no charge. ABI/INFORM Professional Advanced

In Q4 of 2012 we conducted a full review of the entire title holdings of ProQuest in order to ensure we were providing the best possible version of ABI/INFORM to support broad business research and the competitive intelligence needs of all ProQuest Dialog customers. The result of this review is the creation of ABI/INFORM Professional Advanced, which includes an additional 2,000 titles, over 50% of which are full text.

These additional titles can be broadly categorized as follows:

• Approximately one-third are broad business and economics-related scholarly journals, trade journals and wire feeds.
• A further third is a diverse collection of engineering, scitech and medical trade journals and scholarly journals, covering all major industries, such as ICT, electronics, food, pharma, aerospace and defense, manufacturing and heavy industry.
• The remaining third covers a broad collection of relevant research resources, from scholarly maths and physics journals to public statistics and country and state reports. Breakdowns by subject area and document type are provided in Figure 1.

Trade Journal coverage is significantly enhanced in ABI/INFORM Professional Advanced, with more than 1,000 additional titles available. This expanded trade collection includes key titles from publishers such as Reed Business Information, AHC Media (health and medical); Jane's Information Group (aerospace and defense titles) and UBM LLC (ICT and communications titles such as Information Week). ABI/Inform Professional Market Research

Also offered as part of the ABI/INFORM Professional collection, ABI/INFORM Professional Market Research will be the research report product offering on ProQuest Dialog.
